What you should know before becoming an Otherlander

If you want to become an OTHERLAND resident, you have to realize that this is not the so called mainland, where a mild anarchy rules. The sims on the Otherland Archipelago are operated by The OTHERLAND Group and buy buying or renting land here, you are entering a contract with this legal body.

The following documents describe the rules that govern this contract relationship

> The Covenant

All the land on The OTHERLAND Archipelago is "zoned", meaning that there is a set of rules to which everyone who wants to become a resident of OTHERLAND has to agree. (A few sims are themed in addition.) These rules cover such areas as building, terraforming, vegetation, (no) ban lines etc. MUST READ before you buy.

> The Fineprint

The legal mumbo jumbo. This document covers topics like payments, termination of contract, re-selling of land etc.

> The Themes

Some of our land is "themed". This means that buildings and plants have to conform to a certain "theme" like South Sea Island, New England Coast etc. Please check the description of your parcel, before you buy it, if it is themed. You might not be allowed to build your dream house on any parcel.
