A few of our sims are "themed". This means, that residents owning or renting land in those sims have to conform to a small set of building rules in addition to the Covenant of The OTHERLAND Group.
The following sims on The OTHERLAND Archipelago are styled in the Theme "Industrial Residential" (while the name can be taken with a grain of salt; we allow a rather diverse set of architectural styles there):
- Dulcie
- Anwin
The Theme
Living and building on a sim with this theme means:
- Buildings have to feature renovated industrial type builds characterized by large open spaces on the inside with large windows and rustic wrought iron. Metal, brick and stone homes with the rare exception for a wood one. No "contemporary modern" houses of steel and glass, no "Bauhaus", no shacks, no medieval castles, skyscrapers, no treehouses.
- All buildings should be preapproved by the assigned managers (at the time of this printing Dana Bergson and Mikayla Gillespie)
- The parcels should not be deforrested. Either the initial vegetation has to stay in place or some vegetation in a similar style has to be replaced after building. You must maintain, at minimum, the same amount of vegetation as was there when bought. We will gladly supply you with automated tree seeds that make it very easy to rebuild some vegetation. You can add your own vegetation, of course, but it should "fit" in style with the initial one. (No palms, cacti or tropical flowers for example.)
- No placement of items on boardwalk without preapproval.
- No removal of any part of the boardwalk or the items on the boardwalk even if it is on your land.
- No permanent parking of boats in the water around the boardwalk. We feel this detracts from the overall beauty of the water. If you absolutely need this, please ask. Depending on size and style of your boat exceptions *might* be possible.
- No building on the water or in the water around the boardwalk.
- Development of the natural setting is encouraged, including nature trails, paths. We will be happy to provide you with a copy of the benches used on the boardwalk.
- Build size compared to land size as explained in the convenant is strongly enforced. The setting is a rural one and oversized builds will take away from this feeling.
- No flying structures in the air below 400m. This means buildings. Eagles are OK ;) And you may build whatever you want above 400m, of course.
That's it. The OTHERLAND Covenant is applicable too, of course. Nothing to serious, we hope. But if you simply can not live with these rules ... we have a lot of other areas available on the OTHERLAND Archipelago that are not themed at all.
